Love: A Bizarre Nexus Of Emotion
I can’t imagine any new words.
Let me instead tell you what my heart screams.
That, pretending to love solitude is how I cope with the fear of being alone.
That, my self worth is inextricably connected to how much of your heart that you share.
That, I’ve accepted my fate to die alone, but I am nonetheless terrified.
Why then, so much resistance?
Can I go wherever it is you are going?
I promise to breathe quietly.
Can I tell you my deepest desire?
I promise to take rejection in stride.
Can I rest with you in the shade of the peppercorn tree?
I promise to be gentle.
See, Is this not the perfect place to forget the troubles of the floating world?
Bear with me, I am going to speak of love.
But, I can only say this about love:
I can only say that it must exist. It is for that reason that I cannot say for certain that it does not.
